Jonathan Strahan has edited numerous acclaimed anthologies, including The Locus Awards (with Charles N. Brown), The New Space Opera (with Gardner Dozois), and Swords and Dark Magic: The New Sword andnbsp;Sorcery (with Lou Anders).

Frances Hardinge spent a large part of her childhood in a huge old house that inspired her to write strange stories from an early age. She read English at Oxford University, then got a job at a software company. However, a few years later a persistent friend finally managed to bully Frances into sending a few chapters of FLY BY NIGHT, her first children's novel, to a publisher. Macmillan made her an immediate offer. The book went on to publish to huge critical acclaim and win the Branford Boase First Novel Award. Cuckoo Song is Frances's sixth novel.

Garth Nix was born in Melbourne, Australia on July 19, 1963 and grew up in Canberra. He graduated from the University of Canberra in 1986 and worked various jobs within the publishing industry until 1994. After a stint in public relations, he returned to books and took up writing as a career. In 1999, he received a Golden Duck Award for Australian Contribution to Children's Science Fiction. He is the author of the Old Kingdom series, The Seventh Tower series, and The Keys to the Kingdom series. In 2014 his title Blood Ties made The New York Times Best Seller List.
