T. M. Hoy was born and raised in Mountain View, California.After extensive travel in Asia, he settled in Bangkok, and thenChiang Mai, located in Northern Thailand. While living there, hemade a "tragic error in judgment" by not reporting a murder hewitnessed to police. In 1995, he was given a life sentence, and spentthe next five-plus years between Chiang Mai Remand and BangKwang Prison. He was given a treaty transfer and sent back to thestates, where he finished his sentence at FCC Tucson in 2011. Hoycurrently resides in Tucson, Arizona.
