Tad Stryker is a freelance writer with a lifelong interest in Nebraska and its history. He is editor of NebraskaPedia.com, an online encyclopedia where he links historical articles about Nebraska and its various towns. He co-wrote and edited a 2005 Turner publication, Maranatha: The Miracle Camp on the Plains, chronicling the history of a nonprofit organization based near North Platte. A native Nebraskan, Stryker was raised in Custer County, where pioneer photographer Solomon D. Butcher settled and did the majority of his best-known work. Stryker graduated from the University of Nebraska�Lincoln with a degree in journalism and history. He and his wife, Jean, have three grown children.
