Andre Elbaz is a writer and teacher of French and Comparative Literature at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. He was born and grew up in Fez, Morocco, studied at the University of Bordeaux and received his doctorate from the Sorbonne in 1969. Prof. Elbaz has also taught in Morocco, Niger and the United States. He is the author of several books and numerous articles and his specialties include Sephardic culture and turn of the century French literature.
