D. M. Delgadillo, although a young poet, has plenty to offer, which is evident through his use of multiple-rhymes, complex cadences, flurries of imagery and his balance of straightforwardness and complexity. His writings do not adhere to preset structures, but have the fluidity inherent in the art of spoken word. When citing the inspirations for the manner in which he formulates his lines, he lists several artists from the rap/hip-hop genre. He has learned from listening to their songs and thus, endeavors to deliver consistent, high-caliber work.
