All children love the Easter Bunny, but as a Christian mother and grandmother I thought the fantasy figure who brings baskets of candy had overshadowed the true meaning of Easter. Seeing the wild bunnies hopping around at night on my California ranch gave me the idea of how a family of bunnies might have been out and about on the hillside where Jesus was buried, watching and worrying about what they saw. With the story of the resurrection tied to the lives of an imaginary bunny family living in Jerusalem, the events surrounding Jesus' three days in the tomb are told in a new and different way; from the perspective of a curious little wild bunny, Joshua. The watercolor illustrations reflect… my vision of the adventures of Joshua and his family as they become part of this wonderful event. This is the story of the real Easter Bunny who is there to meet the risen Lord Jesus on that very first Easter morn.
