Janet Wheelock Balsbaugh grew up on a farm in Ohio, and has been around cooking all of her life. She is a self taught cook who worked along side of her mom and grandma who taught her to can fruits and vegetables and cook from scratch. She has a strong background working with food preparation all the way from majoring in Home Economics, Vice president and President of the Future Homemakers of America in school, and has received many award winning blue ribbons at the county fairs for her cooking and baking. Living gluten free and dairy free did not come easy for her when she was diagnosed with two serious illnesses, one of which was around 30 years ago. Her love for food left her longing for… the taste she remembered such as her comfort foods she so dearly loved, but she was not going to let that stop her. She got busy and started experimenting with different types of flours and reworking her recipes. Janet put a lot of effort, love and research in her book and knows you will get a lot of enjoyment out of eating these gluten free dairy free recipes just as she has. She is currently working on a second cookbook which offers many more new and exciting recipes along with more baking.
