Deanne R. Swenson, MLS (ASCP) lives with her husband in the beautiful state of Colorado. Now employed at the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, she values being close to the mountains she loves. Camping, hiking, and snow-shoeing are pursuits to enjoy in snow-capped beauty.Ms. Swenson grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and developed a keen interest in the outdoors where she loved to backpack in the Cascades and Olympics, and where she raised her two daughters.As Ancillary Services Manager at Skagit Valley Medical Center in Mount Vernon, Washington, she was pro0active in developing systems to improve quality and performance. During her management, goals were continuously met… financially and in regards to personnel.She was instrumental in developing their first Safety Program, and liaison position with the community Health Department. Active in her professional society, she was District President of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science - Washington, and later participated on the Board for ASCLS in Hawaii. She was also a member of the clinical Laboratory Management Association.By participating in a collaborative effort with other Laboratory managers and vendors, she was able to bring new efficiencies and significant savings to her organization. First and foremost, she takes great pride in having established training and evaluation systems that led to success and fulfillment in her role as manager.
