Kelsey C. Roy is a recent graduate from the University of Tennessee. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in College Scholars with an emphasis in Children's Book Narrative and Illustration. Her first children's book, Nemanee, was written and illustrated entirely by the author herself prior to her graduation. What began as a senior thesis project, quickly grew into a true project of the heart. Inspired by authors like Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein, whose books served as frequent visitors in her childhood, Ms. Roy strives to bring the written and visual narratives to life creating an imaginative world that appeals to both children and adults alike. Just months after its first printing,… Nemanee has already swam its way across the author's home state of Tennessee into classrooms and homes in California, Colorado, Washington, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Florida, and even Japan. With a heart full of excitement, joy and awe, the author has already begun work on her next book, which she hopes will complement the first and perhaps (fingers crossed) serve as the beginning to a new series of children's books.
