John Morgan was born and raised in the rural countryside thirty-five miles south of Lexington, KY. At an early age, he learned the value of hard work on the family farm where his parents produced tobacco, hay, and grain crops as well as a growing herd of cattle. Leaving home on the day of his eighteenth birthday, he entered the military forces of the United States where he was to remain for the following thirty-two years. He retired as a Master Sergeant, having served in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, and full time with the Kentucky Army National Guard. A second retirement followed from the Kentucky Department of Military Affairs. Eight years later, heart problems forced a third and final… retirement from public work from the Security Department of Keeneland Association, Inc. Mr. Morgan currently resides on a 150-acre farm began by his father in 1948 on sixty acres. This is his second book to be published.God has a way of not allowing you to rest when he has a mission in mind for you. In my sixties, the feeling returned with a vengeance-I had to write! I threw myself into the task with a new determination. Now thanks to the graciousness of our savior, I have one book published, with another soon to be on the shelf and yet another nearly completed. There is no doubt God moves in ways that are mysterious to man. I am living proof of that. It is my fervent hope the following pages will help to inspire you, and you will get as much enjoyment from reading it as I received in the writing.
