Michael Soliz is a retired mortgage and real estate broker and salesman for over 45 years. In his retirement he is entering the world of writing poetry. It is something he has never entertained thoughts of. He wrote his first poem after a traumatic breakup with his girfriend which was written to her to get "closure" hoping to explain his understanding of the situation and perhaps rekindle the relationship. Michael had never written a poem or any publication before, and has no inclination to learn how to write one. The exercise in rhyme is merely an outlet to help him deal with the breakup and the subsequent loss of a business, and inability to find employment anywhere. His personal, semi-… depressed state that followed, called forth pent up feelings of anger, frustration, and futility that led to expressing them in rhyme, primarily as an outlet to maintain his "sanity". He does not fancy himself a poet, and has no intention of pursuing the protocols of the art. But, he does hope to have some success in this new endeavor, no more no less. He has written several poems in reference to religion, politics, and personal. You can contact him at solcoman@aol.com
