For fourteen years prior to that, he was Director of Education at TanenbaumCHAT, Toronto - North America's largest Jewish Community High school (9 -12), with 1,500 students. Under his leadership, the school doubled in size, established a complete new branch north of Toronto, and attracted over $50m. of capital investment. It has over 200 staff, including over 60 teachers of Jewish Studies and Ivrit. TanenbaumCHAT is regarded as a… leading private school in Toronto, and a leading Jewish school worldwide.Over several decades Paul Shaviv has held leadership posts as Director of Jewish Studies, Deputy Head, Principal, Director of Education and now Head of School at six Jewish schools on three continents, spanning a wide spectrum of Jewish ideologies and affiliations. He has published and lectured widely on Jewish education, Jewish history, Jewish affairs, and on Jewish school management, policy and vision.Paul Shaviv was born in 1949, in the UK, and is a graduate of both Cambridge and Oxford universities. He and his late wife Judy z'l lived in Israel for eight years in the 1980's. In 2011 he married Michelle Stein. He has three married children, and at the time of writing, nine beautiful grandchildren! In 2009 he was awarded the Max M. Fisher Prize for Jewish Education in the Diaspora.
