Martine Oborne is a former financial director who now owns two children's gift shops. She has written several successful books for both adults and children including, for Macmillan, ONE GORGEOUS BABY.

Axel Scheffler was born in Hamburg, Germany. His collaborations with Julia Donaldson also include The Gruffalo and The Snail and the Whale. He lives in London.
