TONY ADDISON is Professor of Development Studies and Director of the Brooks World Poverty Institute, University of Manchester, UK,nbsp;and Associate Director of the Chronic Poverty Research Centre. He was previously deputy-director at UNU-WIDER. His research interests include post-conflict reconstruction, the macroeconomics of development, and chronic poverty. TILMAN BR�#339;CK is Head of the Department of International Economics at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), a co-director of the Households in Conflict Network (HiCN) and the coordinator of the Network for the Economics of Terrorism (NEAT). His research focuses on how poor households cope with violent conflict… and insecurity.
