JUDITH STRASSER I lived in Pittsburgh from 1947, when I was 3, until 1962, when I graduated from Taylor Allderdice high school. I grew up in Squirrel Hill and saw the Allegheny and (more impressive to me) the Jones & Laughlin steel mill from the Parkway or the Boulevard of the Allies every time I went downtown, which happened often in those pre-mall years. I have a vague memory of a date in a motor boat when I was in high school, though I can't imagine whose boat it was! That was probably the only time I was actually on the river.
