Bruce Edwards is a former Hollywood film animator, and brings the whimsy of a character artist to his stories. A music major in college, he is also an accomplished musician and composer. His other creative endeavors include a stint as a puppeteer and performing magic at Disneyland. His passion lies in exploring the peculiarities in human behavior through imaginative storytelling. Mr. Edwards lives in Orange County, California.
Allan Jacobs taught in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of California at Berkeley from 1975 to 2001 and twice served as its chair. Presently he is a consultant in city planning and urban design with projects in California, Oregon, and Brazil, among others. He promotes the use of observation as a tool for researching the design of the public realm - streets, spaces, and parks. Prior to his tenure at Berkeley, Jacobs served as Director of Planning for the City of San Francisco from 1967 to 1975, and has since served as a consultant in city planning and urban design to Curitiba, Brazil; Berkeley; Los Angeles; Portland; and many other cities. Jacobs is widely known… for his publications and research in the field of urban design, including such books as Great Streets ,nbsp; Boulevard Book: History, Evolution, Design of Multiway Boulevards (with Macdonald and Rofe), Looking at Cities , and Making City Planning Work . He has won a number of honors and awards, including the AIA Excellence in Education Award, California Chapter; Resident in Architecture, American Academy in Rome; a Guggenheim Fellowship; a Berkeley Citation; and a Kevin Lynch Award from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
