Steven M. Birnbaum, Esq., attended New York University and and studied law at New College of California School of Law in San Francisco. From 1978 through 1982 he served as staff attorney for Legal Assistance to the Elderly. In 1983 he began his private practice, specializing in worker's compensation under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act and the California Labor Code. Mr. Birnbaum is a certified specialist in workers' compensation (State Bar of California). Currently, he serves as a board member of the ATLA Workplace Injury Litigation Group and as the chairman of the ATLA Workers' Compensation Section. Stephen C. Embry, Esq., is a partner in Embry and Neusner in Groton, Connecticut. His practice is primarily limited by personal preference to personal in-jury, workers compensation, Longshore and Harbor Workers Act and product li-ability. He is a graduate of the American University School of International Service in 1971 and the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1975. Mr. Embry is the past Chairman of the American Trial Lawyers Association Section on Workers Compensation and is presently on the Board of Directors at the Workplace Injury Litigation Group of the American Trial Lawyers Association.
