"Marilyn Bridges has been photographing ancient religious sites for many years. Her dramatic aerial photographs capture the mysterious Nazca lines painstakingly scored two thousand years ago onto a Peruvian desert landscape, the sacred temples and pyramids of the Maya, deep in the Yucatn jungle, the enigmatic earthworks of ancient North American Indians, and the colossal prehistoric temple of Stonehenge."

The earth is marked with the traces of man's past, and Marilyn Bridges's photographs reveal the spiritual forces inherent in our ancestral creations
Her photographic exploration highlights the mysterious Nazca Lines painstakingly scored 2,000 years ago onto a remote Peruvian desert; the sacred temples and pyramids of the Maya lost in a sea of Yucatan jungle; unknown enigmatic earthworks of ancient Native Americans; and the colossal prehistoric standing stones of Britain
Markings is the artist's elegant aerial documentation of sacred landscapes never revealed in their totality from a surface perspective
Aside from their documentary value, the photographs are beautiful in themselves, taken with an artist's eye for the shapes and patterns formed by the lines and the way they lie on the surface
The New York Times A stunning collection of photographs of ancient sacred sites
