Thomas McGuane was born in 1939. He earned his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1962 and his M.F.A. from Yale in 1965. His novel, "The Bushwhacked Piano," received the Richard and Hinda Rosenthal Award for a Work of Fiction in 1971. Another of his books, "Ninety Two in the Shade," was nominated for a National Book Award for Fiction in 1974. Some of his other books include "Nothing but Blue Skies" and "Keep the Change." Thomas McGuane was also co-editor of The Best American Sports Writing. He lives in Montana.
