RAE ARMANTROUT is a professor of writing in the literature department at the University of California at San Diego, and the author of eight books of poetry, including Next Life and Veil: New and Selected Poems.ELIZABETH WILLIS is the author of four previous books including Meteoric Flowers, Turneresque, and The Human Abstract. She is the Shapiro-Silverberg Chair for Writing at Wesleyan University.
