Richard Tulloch grew up in Melbourne, Australia, where he studied law and education and worked as a taxi driver, radio announcer and theatre director. He travelled to Europe where he worked for two years as a musician, car washer, and started writing plays. Tulloch returned to Australia to be an actor, director and writer in Perth, before moving to Sydney.
