John Matras is an award-winning auto writer who filed his first article in Custom Rodder magazine in 1980. Since then he has written for all of the big car magazines – Car and Driver, Road & Track, Motor Trend, AutoWeek, Automobile – plus a variety of others. He is founder and editor-in-chief of CarBuzzard.com, an eclectic site full of car reviews, news and, as he puts it, “stuff found on the side of the road.”
John has also written four automotive books: a history of the Mazda RX-7 and buyers’ guides for Mazda, Datsun/Nissan and Volvo. And with Matt Stone, former editor of Motor Trend, he co-authored 365 Cars You Must Drive.
John has three adult… daughters, two son-in-laws and one grandson, and he has been married for more than four wonderful decades to Mary Ann Matras, Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.
