The author: Jonathan Elphickis a British natural history author, editor, consultant, researcher and lecturer, specializing in ornithology. His many books include an acclaimed historical survey of ornithological illustration,Birds: The Art of Ornithology. Based in London, he is a Scientific Fellow of the Zoological Society of London and a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London.
Richard Walker trained as a zoologist and gained his Ph.D. in physiology and biochemistry. He taught for eight years before leaving education to become a writer. Richard has written many award-winning books for children on natural history, human biology, and science, including The Kingfisher First Human Body Encyclopedia and How the Incredible Human Body Works.
