Michael Bamberger joined Sports Illustrated as a senior writer in 1995 after thirteen years as a newspaper reporter. He has written a play ( Bart & Fay) and five books, including The Swinger, To the Linksland and This Golfing Life. His work has appeared in numerous editions of the annual anthology The Best American Sports Writing.Alan Shipnuck is a staff writer at "Sports Illustrated." In 1994, at age twenty-one, he became the youngest person ever to write a cover story for the magazine with an article on Ken Griffey, Jr. A graduate of UCLA, he also writes two golf columns a week for CNNSI.com & is a contributor to "Travel & Leisure Golf," "Golf & Travel," & "Golf for Women."
