Sharon K. Hunt is an associate professor in food and nutrition. She has more than twenty years in research and teaching food and nutrition. She has taught at two Historically Black Universities. Ms. Sharon Kaye Hunt, RD, LD, is a retired Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Fort Valley State University. She is an author of four books, six cookbooks, twelve children books and one historical book. Ms. Hunt appeared three times on QVC Home Shopping Network selling her cookbook ndash;Bread from Heaven. Her historical book ndash; 83 Imprisoned in the Garden of Evil - centers around the U.S. Colored Troops who were prisoners of war at Andersonville, Georgia… during the Civil War. For many years, Ms. Hunt worked with the FVSU Queens coronation committee. She wrote a booklet to assist the queens in preparing for the coronation. Ms. Hunt is also the author of the original recipe for the 'World Largest Peach Cobbler' showcased at the Fort Valley Peach Festival, Fort Valley, Georgia each year in June. Also, Ms. Hunt has served as an Artist ndash;in-Residence at the Georgia National Fair in Perry, Georgia. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Ms. Hunt served as charter president of the Warner Robins Alumnae Chapter.
