Henry Sutton is the author of six previous novels, including Get Me Out of Here and Kids' Stuff, which became a long-running stage play in Latvia. He is also the author of a collection of short stories, Thong Nation. He has worked as a journalist and critic, and is now Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. In 2006, he received a Bronze Star for his service. Upon returning to the United States following his service, he consulted as an independent civilian contractor, training military EOD units on tactical bomb-disposal procedures prior to their deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan. He lives in Buffalo, New York, with his wife and children.
