Richard Pears has worked in public and academic libraries for over 15 years and is currently an academic liaison librarian at Durham University. He teaches research and information skills to students from PhD to undergraduate levels and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Cite Them Right (co-authored with Graham Shields) is informed by this day-to-day experience of supporting students with the task of referencing the huge range of information sources available today, and in avoiding plagiarism, a much publicised issue in education.
