Michael Locke served on the first Silver Lake Neighborhood Council as Region 1 representative and vice chair, and was founder of the Beautification Committee. Since 2003, he has edited and published the Silver Lake News, an online community newspaper. He also contributes to the Los Feliz Ledger, the Los Feliz Observer and the Los Angeles City Historical Society newsletter. He lives in the Durex Model Home (L.A. Historic-Cultural Landmark No. 1025) in Los Feliz with his wife Donna Jean.

COLIN ROCHESTER has taught and conducted research on voluntary action at the London School of Economics and Roehampton University, UK,nbsp;where he founded the Centre for the Study of Voluntary and Community Activity.
