Malavika Karlekar is Co-editor, Indian Journal of Gender Studies and Curator, Re-presenting Indian Women A Visual Documentary 1875-1947, both at Centre for Women's Development Studies, New Delhi. Since 2001, she has been designing and curating an annual calendar based on archival photographs of Indian women. Dr Karlekar writes a regular column based on archival photographs for The Telegraph (Kolkata) and her recent books are Re-visioning the Past - Early Photography in Bengal (2005), Visualizing Indian Women (2005) and Visual Histories - Photography in the Popular Imagination (2013).
