Robert M. Regoli is professor of Sociology at the University of Colorado in Boulder. In 1975, he received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Washington State University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Professor Regoli is the author of more than 80 journal publications and books, and is past-President and Fellow of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
John D. Hewitt is professor of sociology and criminal justice at Grand Valley State University. He received his BA degree in history, with a concentration in Far Eastern studies, from Western Washington State College (1968), and his Ph.D. Sociology from Washington State University (1975). Professor Hewitt is the author or co-author of four books and more than 30 articles on such topics as judicial sentencing, historical crime trends, victim-offender relationships in homicide, and the treatment of juvenile delinquency in China. His writings have been published in journals such asJustice Quarterly,Crime and Delinquency,Law and Human Behavior,Social Forces,Journal of Social Research, andLaw… and Policy Quarterly.
