Kyung-Sup Chang received a Ph.D. from Brown University and currently serves as�Professor of Sociology and Director of the Institute for Social Development and Policy Research at Seoul National University. His research interests include: developmental politics and social policy, comparative modernities (compressed modernity), post-socialist transitions in Asia. His work on these issues has appeared in Economy and Society , World Development , Journal of Development Studies , International Sociology , etc. His book, South Korea under Compressed Modernity: Familial Political Economy in Transition , is forthcoming by Routledge (April 2010), and he is currently working on another… book, From Developmental Liberalism to Neoliberalism: Social Parameters of Developmental Politics in South Korea .(2) Bryan Turner is the Alona Evans Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Wellesley College but has recently been appointed as the Presidential Professor of Sociology and the Director of the Committee on Religion at the City University of New York USA to commence 1 September 2010. He was the professor of sociology in the Asia Research Institute at the National University of Singapore (2005-9). He has published (with Nasir and Pereira ) Muslims in Singapore (Routledge, 2009) and edited (with Zheng Yangwen ) The Body in Asia (Berghahn, 2010). He also edited The Routledge International Handbook of Globalization Studies (2010). He was award the Litt.D. from Cambridge University in 2009. He is the founding editor of the journal Citizenship Studies .
