Henry Shukman wrote a travel book, Sons of the Moon, at the age of nineteen, followed by Travels with my Trombone, based on a year working as a musician in the Caribbean, and Savage Pilgrims, a memoir set in New Mexico. He has won numerous poetry awards, including the Daily Telegraph Arvon Prize and the Times Literary Supplement Prize.
