Lisa Rogak is the author of more than forty books and hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. She has written biographies of Dr. Robert Atkins, Dan Brown, Shel Silverstein, and Stephen King. She lives in Charleston, South Carolina.

Michelle Robinson was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 17, 1964. She studied sociology and African-American studies at Princeton University. After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1988, she joined the Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin, where she met her husband Barack Obama.
