Adult/young adult author Connie Porter was born in Buffalo, New York, where she started pursuing a writing career in high school. Porter began her career by writing articles for magazines and book reviews in newspapers. She then went on to write the novels All-Bright Court and Imani All Mine.
An illustrator for the past twenty years, Dahl Taylor has completed assignments for clients such as BMG Music, Abbott Pharmaceuticals, and American Express International Banking. He has painted posters for several Broadway plays including the Tony-nominated Having Our Say and Neil Simon's Jake's Women . Taylor's editorial work has appeared on the pages of numerous magazines including Money , Forbes , Readers Digest , and The New Yorker . He has also reillustrated a 54-painting series for The Pleasant Company's American Girl book series. Taylor was a member of the Society of Illustrators for twenty years and is a past member of the Portrait Society of America.
