Bea Seidl worked for the Diocese of Green Bay for twenty-nine years before retiring in 2008. Her firsthand experience in the 1940s as a resident of St. Joseph's Orphanage for eight years, as well as all that happened to her in her life afterward moved her to tell her story in the memoir, Orphan Doors. The author and her second husband Jerry together raised eight children from their previous marriages. She is now the grandmother of sixteen and great grandmother of four. Seidl lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin and enjoys reading, gardening, dancing, theater, and any board or card game.
