Philip B. Dobrin was born and raised in Passaic, New Jersey, the son of a pharmacist and a teacher in the public schools.He received a bachelor's degree (A.B.)from New York University, and a Masters degree (M.A) from Connecticut College. He went on to receive a Ph.D. Degree in Medical Physiology and an M.D. degree from Loyola University in Chicago. He also completed residency training in General Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. After completion of training he remained at Loyola as a member of the teaching surgical faculty.He has published more than one hundred scientific articles in peer-reviewed scientificjournals; these articles focus on aneurysms, sutures, blood vessel… properties and the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal infections.His research is highly recognized in the United States and Europe where he has frequently been an invited speaker.He is currently retired and living in Florida.
