Col. Robert J. Dalessandro was in the U.S. Army for 29 years and served in a wide variety of leadership and staff assignments, including commands at the company, depot, and battalion levels and staff assignments up to the Department of the Army. In his career, he received numerous honors, including the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Parachutist Badge. A resident of Washington, DC, he is currently a member of the Senior Executive Service and Executive Director of Military History at the U.S. Army Center of Military History.
