Charles Caldwell Ryrie was born in 1925 and is a graduate of Haverford College, Dallas Theological Seminary, where he earned his Th.M. and Th.D. and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland where he earned his Ph.D. For many years he served as professor of systematic theology and dean of doctoral studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. He was also the president of Philadelphia School of the Bible.
