The author comes well prepared to this topic. Her PH.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Carolina was concentrated in mathematics and technology. She also holds a Master_s in Special Education from Boston College and a bachelor_s in mathematics and education. She has taught middle school mathematics and special education, tutors special education students, teaches mathematics methods and supervises preservice teachers of elementary and secondary mathematics. She is a regular journal contributor and conference presenter, sits on the technology committee of the NCTM and is contributing the chapter on differentiating mathematics for the NCTM yearbook. At her presentation on this topic at the 2002 NCTM, she was encouraged by representatives of Eisenhower Clearinghouse to publish her presentation material.
