Allan Ornstein is Professor of Education and Social Policy at St. John's University, New York. He is a former Fulbright-Hayes Scholar and consultant for more than fifty education and government agencies. Dr. Ornstein is the author of 400 articles and more than sixty books, including Class Counts (2007), Wealth vs. Work (2012), and Foundations of Education (12th edition, 2014).

Daniel Levine is a former Professor of Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and before that at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Dr. Levine has authored numerous journal articles and papers on urban education, school reform, and related topics.
