A previous Associate Dean of Temple University's College of Education, Joan Poliner Shapiro now chairs its Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. She has also codirected the Women's Studies program at the University of Pennsylvania, taught middle and high school, and supervised intern teachers.
