Doug Dorst is the author of Alive in Necropolis, which was a runner-up for the 2009 PEN/Hemingway, a New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice, and one of Amazon.com's Best Books of 2008. His short story collection, The Surf Guru, was also an NYTBR Editors' Choice New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice as well as a Rumpus Book Club selection. His stories have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies Doug is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop.
