Laurence Shames is a native New Yorker. He was a reporter and wrote a non-fiction best-seller on the Mafia called Boss of Bosses and was also the 'Ethics' columnist for Esquire. He is the author of five Key West comic thrillers. He won the CWA Last Laugh Dagger Award for the funniest crime novel of 1995 with Sunburn. After living in New York for twenty years he moved to Key West in Florida in 1990 Laurence Shames has been a full-time writer for over 20 years, during which he has penned everything from essays to screenplays, social history to crime fiction.
Peter Barton is a historian, archaeologist, and film-maker. He authored The Battlefields of the First World Warafter researching the forgotten Imperial War Museum panorama archive for eight years. His other books include The Somme, and Passchendaele. He is co-secretary of the All Party Parliamentary War Graves and Battlefields Heritage Group.
