When it's time to return your textbook rental, our three-step process makes it simple:

Print out your FREE rental return shipping label.

Pack Your Rental
Pack your books and tape the label on the box.

Ship Your Rental
Bring your package to any
FedEx drop off location.
That's all there is to it! Once we receive and inspect your books, your textbook rental will be complete. Remember, if you need more time, you have the option to extend your rental, or even buy out your rental if you decide you want to keep your textbook.
How to Print Your Rental Return Label
We make it easy to print your rental return label.
Click "Rental options" on the rental you want to return, then select the "Return rental" option.
Choose your carrier and label format from the available options, then click the “Print Label” button.
That’s it! Your label will open in a new tab. Just print it and tape it to the top of your box. It’s that easy. 😎
Packing and Shipping Your Rental Return
In order to ensure the safe arrival of your rental return, we’ve got a few tips on how to pack your books for shipping. Following these guidelines will help reduce the chance of your books getting lost or damaged in transit, which could result in extra charges. That’s something we want to avoid just as much as you do.
- Pack your books tightly in a sturdy shipping box. You can even use the same box we used to send your rental to you!
- We suggest putting the books inside a plastic bag – like a grocery bag – to protect them from the elements while in transit.
- Fill empty space in the box with recyclable packing material such as crushed paper. Please do not use any type of pellets.
- Seal your package with heavy-duty packing tape. TextbookRush is not responsible for books lost or damaged in transit.
Once your book is packed and your label is taped to the box, take your package to any FedEx drop off location near you.

Rental Return Tips 💡
Rentals are a great alternative to buying and can save you money. Here are some tips to ensure a smooth return process.
🥰 Take care of your rental.
Rental books are used multiple times, by multiple students. Because of this, please limit the use of highlighting and writing in your rental. Don’t forget, books must be returned in a similar condition to when they were mailed, so try to avoid things like water damage and teething puppies.
📫 Your rental should be postmarked by the due date.
If your rental return is not postmarked by the due date, you will be charged a rental buyout price (+ tax), less any fees paid for each item not returned (minimum charge of $19.95). This price is presented and agreed to during checkout in the rental terms & conditions.
📆 Extend or buy your rental if you need more time.
We know that sometimes plans change, so we make it easy for you to extend your rental due date or even buy your book so you don’t have to return it. You can easily do this from the rentals section of your TextbookRush account.
📧 We’ll email you a reminder before your due date.
Please ensure that you have access to the email address you used when you placed your rental order. It is important we have a valid email address so that we can keep you informed on the status of your rental and contact you if there are any issues.
