A native of the Washington, D.C. area, Hurwitz currently lives in Los Angeles. Chris Carter is the creator and executive producer of… "The X-Files." Carter started Ten Thirteen Productions with a concept for "The X-Files" that he developed as a synthesis of urban myths, conspiracy theory, and stories of extra-terrestrial abduction. "The X-Files" was picked up by Fox and remained a hit primetime evening show from 1993 to 2002. "The X-Files" inspired a 1998 movie version written and produced by Carter, video games, and multiple network spin-offs. Carter is currently on location in Vancouver shooting the next "The X-Files" film slated for 2008.
