A shaykh or murshid of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order, is Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani. A descendant not only of the holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) but also of the great Sufi masters, Abdul Qadir al-Gilani and Jalaluddin Rumi, Shaykh Nazim was born in Larnaca, Cyprus, in 1922 during the period of British rule of the island.
