He started in the food business at the hotel Newfoundland in 1965 and has been across Canada as well Labrador and the United States for the past 34 and a half years. Gerry has been a chef instructor in the culinary arts and was a founding member of the Newfoundland and Labrador chefs association twenty-five years ago and has been president for the past six years. He is a four time winner of chef of the year in Newfoundland and 2 time winner of the Atlantic chef of the year.
