Dr. Paul Sanghera is an educator, technologist, and an entrepreneur living in Silicon Valley, California. With a master's degree in computer science from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in physics from Carleton University, he has authored and co-authored more than 100 technical papers published in well-reputed European and American research journals. He has more than 10 years of project management experience in the computer industry and at research labs at CERN and Cornell. Having worked in various roles including director of project management at companies such as MP3.com and Dream Logic, director of software development, and software developer, he has a broader view of project management.… He has earned several industry certifications including CompTIA Project+, Project Management Professional, Network+, Linux+, Sun Certified Java Programmer, and Sun Certified Business Component Developer. Dr. Sanghera has contributed to building the world class technologies such as Netscape Communicator, and Novell's NDS. He has taught technology courses at various institutes including San Jose Sate University and Brooks College. As an engineering manager, he has been at the ground floor of several startups.Brian Smithers is a classically-trained musician, conductor, and composer who has been performing and teaching music for more than twenty years. He has served as conductor of the world-famous Walt Disney World Band and has contributed articles to Keyboard Magazine, Music & Computers, and Electronic Musician. An accomplished recording engineer, he founded a Web site that was for years the only sustained Internet resource for laptop-based music production. As Course Director of Audio Workstations and Advanced Audio Workstations at Full Sail Real World Education, Smithers coordinates and guides the curriculum of one of the largest digital audio workstation lab environments in the world. He also teaches music technology at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida.

Scott R. Garrigus (garrigus.com) has been involved with music and computers since he was twelve years old. He earned a B.A. in music performance with an emphasis in sound recording technology at UMass, Lowell. In 1993, he released his first instrumental album on cassette, Pieces of Imagination. In 1995, he began his professional writing career when his first article appeared in Electronic Musician magazine. In 2000, he authored his first book, Cakewalk Power!, which was the first book to deal exclusively with the Cakewalk Pro Audio, Guitar Studio, and Home Studio software applications. Since then, Scott has written a number of other books, including Sound Forge Power!, SONAR Power!, SONAR 2… Power!, Sound Forge 6 Power!, SONAR 3 Power!, SONAR 4 Power!, SONAR 5 Power!, Sound Forge 8 Power!: The Official Guide, SONAR 8 Power!, SONAR X1 Power!, and SONAR X2 Power! Today, Garrigus continues to contribute articles to a number of print and online publications. He also publishes his own music technology e-zine, called DigiFreq (digifreq.com), which provides free news, reviews, tips, and techniques for music technology and home recording users.
