I was born and grew up in Germany's Ruhr Valley. Even as a little girl I could not fathom anything more exciting than to draw and to invent stories, so it was pretty logical to imagine myself becoming a writer or a painter.Unfortunately things went at first a different direction: After obtaining my high school diploma, I embarked on an education as a legal aid; thereafter I studied law.In 1990 I met my husband at the Cote d'Azur and immigrated to France. In France the first thing I faced was to learn the language in depth. In 1996 I obtained my master's degree in German, but since France went through a period of intensive teaching position cutback at that time, I had to bury my project to… become a German teacher at high-school or university.Never the less, I worked as a teacher for German and English at elementary school and later at the sales department of a publishing house. I left this job in 2009, to homeschool my son Yann - born in 1998 - for the next two years; now I devote myself to my creative projects and to my family.Only in 2004, I returned to my first love, drawing/painting:My German mother knitted 'like a maniac 'for her little grandson Yann in France: Sweaters and socks galore. It was her idea to write the first story (The Beach Sweater) to accompany those sweaters. I illustrated it.Thus the magical world of adventure about mema's sweaters developed, starring Yann first in the story "Mema Knits Stories".
