Craig was born in Kansas City, Missouri, December 8,1950. He has been writing all his life. He has had articles published in the L.A. Times and written over 100 song lyrics. He studied cultural anthropology in college, learning about people and their search for a deeper meaning in life. He also studied children's literature and myths from around the world. He has worked in the early childhood area as a teacher and learned about children and their needs.He has always felt a connection to those who have physical disabilities. Their courage and determination in overcoming these obstacles to lead a happy and fulfilling life is what inspired the story "Lucky".
